We have regularly handled cases across the country involving a variety of fraudulent schemes. The below list includes our $119 million settlement in the case of U.S. ex rel. Byrne v. Damon Clinical Laboratories, which is currently listed among the top 100 recoveries in the history of the federal False Claims Act.
December 3, 2009 – United States of America ex rel. Terri Hall-Dutts, et al. v. SCCI Hospitals of America, Inc. – $830,166 (health care fraud case involving improper billings for services provided at long-term acute care hospitals. FHWN served as co-counsel with Hertz Schram, P.C.)
July 10, 2009 – United States of America and the State of Michigan ex rel. Maria Hoepner and Frank Pink, et al. v. St. John Health System and University of Detroit Mercy – $822,000 (health care fraud case involving improper billings for dental or oral/maxillofacial services.)

July 27, 2007 – United States of America ex rel. [JANE DOE] v. [DEFENDANTS] - $1,250,000 (health care fraud case involving improper billings for nursing home services at metro Detroit care facilities. FHWN served as co-counsel with Cohen & West, P.C.)
March 27, 2007 – United States of America and the State of Michigan ex rel. James LaFortune v. Beacon Ambulance, Inc. - $230,193 (health care fraud case involving fraudulent billings for ambulance services.)
June 8, 2004 – United States of America ex rel. Todd Gervae and Michael Inman v. Payne & Dolan, Inc. - $1,000,000 (contracting case involving the submission of false quality assurance and quality control data to the Michigan Department of Transportation in connection with federally-funded road projects.)
